Volleyball Season 2017-2018

With a win to loss ratio of four to seven, the Varsity volleyball team is having a fairly pleasant season. They started off with a new coach, which proved to be a positive adjustment, and ended up having a triumphant effect on the team. According to Nareh Aghakhanian, “Coach Armine is a great coach, and she has been an inspiration to us all.” With a few rough patches down the road, they managed to improve game after game. After asking a few of the players how they felt about certain things, it is very clear that the bond these players share is unbreakable. Most of them admitted that their attitudes make a huge difference on the result of the game, and the one weakness they have is lack of communication on the court. By managing practices and games with schoolwork, they challenge themselves on a mental and physical level, allowing themselves to become better scholar-athletes. “I feel like each win and loss makes us become closer and makes us understand what we did wrong and what we could have done better as a team,” said Tiana Toxqui. The most admirable qualities of the team are the effort they put into succeeding and winning each game and how they all get along so easily. As one of their remarkable players once stated, “My favorite part of away games are the delicious brownies the parents bring along.” From cracking jokes to spiking balls, the Pilibos Girls Varsity Volleyball team has managed to squeeze their way into our hearts, compelling us to root for them at every game throughout their season. #GoEagles
