Art Gallery
Please take a moment to look through the Pilibos Art Gallery, which features some of the most recent works from the Fundamentals of Design and Studio Art classes. A special thank you to our absolutely amazing and extremely talented art teacher, Ms. Jessica Anderson. Pilibos is grateful to have such a creative teacher like you. Without your guidance, none of these artworks would have been made. Lastly, a big shout out to our extraordinary students who are extremely talented in the field of art.

Fundamentals of Design:
Fundamentals of Design: Black and White Composition: For this assignment students chose their subject matter. They were asked to create a “composition-design” using 50% black and 50% white. They were shown several techniques for spilling the space including "overlapping, interrupted grid, and simplification." Students were also shown many strategies for creating a successful and dynamic composition, such as the rule of thirds and the golden ratio. Students used black acrylic paint to complete this project.
Fundamentals of Design: Paper Mosaic: Students were asked to create a mosaic motif incorporating natural subjects (nature). Students used colored paper between 0.5-1 inch to create their picture. For inspiration students viewed images of the Armenian Bird Mosaic in Jerusalem.
STUDIO ART:
Studio Art: The 2 pictures below contain a combination of Cross Hatching and Cross Contour Lines black and white drawings. The cross contour lines were used to define the surface of the person’s face. For the cross hatching, students chose pictures of any person they wished to draw and Used cross hatching to shade their pictures.
Studio Art: The pictures below contain pictures from the Charcoal Still Life collection. Students created a drawing of a still life using charcoal. The still life was set up in class.
Studio Art: The two paintings below are a part of the Atmospheric Perspective Landscape collection in which students created a landscape that incorporates a foreground, middleground and background. Students had the option to choose from watercolor or acrylic paint for this project. The painting had to incorporate an atmospheric perspective.
