Weekly Horoscope



Aries - You are always doing the same old, same old. Take some time in your week to try something different. Expand yourself as an individual; do not be confined.

Taurus - Everybody has their own path in life. Everything happens at a certain point for certain reasons. Remember not to compare yourselves to anyone, because you are where you are based on your own choices and circumstances, not anybody else’s.

Gemini - Be productive, Gemini! This is your week to feel determined and motivated. Finish all your incomplete tasks and do not be afraid to tackle a new challenge or two.

Cancer - Because of this week’s energies, you might be feeling a little worn out and beat down. Do your best to take things one step at a time and always save some room for fun! By staying busy, you will feel at your best.

Leo - Make a small treat for yourself: a goal to look forward too. It is much easier to set your mind to tasks when there is a reward in sight.

Virgo - As a Virgo, you always like matters to be more traditional or conventional. However, do not judge others for their lifestyles. Do not be afraid of what you do not know. Instead, be willing to embrace others’ perspectives. Do not waste all that energy on judging others, but use it to improve your own life.

Libra - After a busy time with family, have some “me time.” While you might one major issue, it can probably be quickly resolved by trusting your instincts. At the end of the week, networking and marketing could be your victory.

Scorpio - You could find yourself pondering early in the week. Encourage yourself to study in depth before you take it up a notch. You will enter a phase when encouraged to step back from life and have evaluate yourself. Spend time with your loved one, but don’t forget that some pamper time can be essential.

Sagittarius - A soulful and very spiritual influence will guide you to make a decision that will become beneficial. You will feel satisfied which can imply as doing the right thing. Boost yourself by exercising and to jump-start bold ideas. There are big plans for you heading this way.

Capricorn - If you need advice or a perspective on something, ask a friend who will be helpful. When making decisions on your own it can be challenging because of the constant overthinking. At some point of the week your psyche will change. There is a possibility of having vivid dreams as well as new surfacing problems. This is a good time to resolve all problems and move on.

Aquarius - You could feel energized and well-being due to the sun and Venus being in your sign. This can be excellent for getting ahead with plans and projects that have been put aside. Attending social events and making new connections is very beneficial. You might feel motivated to change your image. There are more positive opportunities coming your way.

Pisces - You are in a phase encouraging you to take life with a lighter hand. Focus on thoughts, feelings, and inner issues that will possibly encourage you to do some stress relieving exercises. Let go of any leftover baggage. However, with Mars being in your chart, the encouraging thoughts of having goals and career will increase. You are very eager to act according to plans and dreaming big in order to live a successful life.

Winter Formal

At 12:15 on Friday, January 19, students rushed out of the Abcarian building halls, hoping they would have enough time to get ready for the long awaited, formal. Guys put on their best suits and the girls slipped into their best dresses, anxiously waiting to see what their friends are going to wear. Members of specific grade levels gathered earlier together to start the celebration and take lots of pictures. Soon students started rolling into the beautifully decorated hall in Metropol. The night started off with dining, along with the occasional dancing to the Armenian music being played. However, as the music got more intense, students could not get off the dance floor. The rhythmic beats of Armenian, Arabic, Spanish, and English music filled the hall and the bodies of the students. They took a quick break for some water and kebab, but quickly stood back up to continue dancing. Anna Turcotte Visits Pilibos

   We are Armenian scholars in an Armenian school; because of this, we are often exposed to our country’s good and bad, the highs and lows. We often hear about the Armenian Genocide and the Artsakh conflicts, but we are not always reminded of the conflicts our people face outside of the homeland. We have seen Genocide survivors and young Artsakh soldiers whose stories we have heard and are a little familiar to us. However we rarely hear from a survivor of mass discrimination and violence, who stood up with Armenians the way other survivors did- just outside the homeland. Pilibos freshmen, sophomores and juniors met one such survivor in an assembly on Tuesday February 27 when Anna Astvatsaturian Turcotte came to Pilibos to share her story and experiences. Anna Turcotte was a ten year old girl living in Azerbaijan when her mother told her she could no longer go to volleyball practice. She did not know at first, but this was just the first sacrifice out of many for the years...
