Weekly Horoscope 3/5-3/9

Aries - The emphasis is on your spiritual side this week. Your intuition could play a direct part in your choice of career and plans. If you need guidance, meditate, which allows you to tune in to your inner wisdom, which could be revealing and helpful. If you can book a massage or take long walk, this could be very relaxing.

Taurus - Your social sector brings you into greater contact with your friends. One connection could seem particularly compelling. Even so, if you can allow the association to develop naturally, things will turn out much better.

Gemini - You will be encouraged to take stock, particularly even if you’ve held back. This week suggests that you may be pushed into making a decision, and you will need to have the right information at hand. Despite the potential for confusion, you might find your thoughts come together in a very constructive way.

Cancer - You might get the best results when you approach travel plans with patience even when you are in a rush. Accept any delays with good humor and everything should proceed very nicely. Mistakes are possible.

Leo - You may have a completely single-minded attitude toward a key issue until it’s resolved to your satisfaction. This could make you rather blinkered for part of the week, but it will get results. This can be an exceptionally good time for a family gathering or big celebration.

Virgo - You might be eager to hurry things along, but this may not be the best way ahead. However, a lovely alignment can be much more conducive to having a good time with the company of friends.

Libra- Venus is in your wellness sector, Libra! You will be physically and mentally elevated this week because you made the choice to be. You could also be motivated to upgrade or renovate parts of your home because of Pluto.

Scorpio- Because of passionate Pluto, you have an emotionally intense start of your week. This is not in a bad way, however; you feel encouraged to get to know someone better. You may both have these feelings, and will want to constantly be in each other’s company. Go with the flow and do not rush things!

Sagittarius- You will probably go on a shopping spree this week (maybe some expensive things??), so your week will be more serious. Always do your research to make sure you are getting the best possible deal. A full moon in your career sector this week will also give you the chance to show off your skills.

Capricorn- This week, you might get a little carried away when it comes to your relationships and you could be seen as trying too hard, especially if it’s a potential romantic relationship. A cross between Venus and Jupiter will be perfect for a special date.

Aquarius - You are a social butterfly this week! As Mars goes through your social zone, you will be busy with simply having fun. But Mercury in your money zone will make you aware of all the ways you have been wasting money. Cut out the extra in your life, so you do not waste your own time and money.

Pisces- You might have to go to a social event, with or against your will. This might be because of someone’s persuasiveness; but if you go along, you might have a wonderful time (especially on the weekend). During the week, there is a full moon in your relationship sector, so go easy and do not make any impulsive moves.

Winter Formal

At 12:15 on Friday, January 19, students rushed out of the Abcarian building halls, hoping they would have enough time to get ready for the long awaited, formal. Guys put on their best suits and the girls slipped into their best dresses, anxiously waiting to see what their friends are going to wear. Members of specific grade levels gathered earlier together to start the celebration and take lots of pictures. Soon students started rolling into the beautifully decorated hall in Metropol. The night started off with dining, along with the occasional dancing to the Armenian music being played. However, as the music got more intense, students could not get off the dance floor. The rhythmic beats of Armenian, Arabic, Spanish, and English music filled the hall and the bodies of the students. They took a quick break for some water and kebab, but quickly stood back up to continue dancing. Towards the end of the night, we celebrated Mr. McCrory’s and junior Veronica Mkhsi-Gevokian’s birthdays ...

Anna Turcotte Visits Pilibos

We are Armenian scholars in an Armenian school; because of this, we are often exposed to our country’s good and bad, the highs and lows. We often hear about the Armenian Genocide and the Artsakh conflicts, but we are not always reminded of the conflicts our people face outside of the homeland. We have seen Genocide survivors and young Artsakh soldiers whose stories we have heard and are a little familiar to us. However we rarely hear from a survivor of mass discrimination and violence, who stood up with Armenians the way other survivors did- just outside the homeland. Pilibos freshmen, sophomores and juniors met one such survivor in an assembly on Tuesday February 27 when Anna Astvatsaturian Turcotte came to Pilibos to share her story and experiences. Anna Turcotte was a ten year old girl living in Azerbaijan when her mother told her she could no longer go to volleyball practice. She did not know at first, but this was just the first sacrifice out of many for the years...
